Here I’m giving my honest review of the Tru Earth Multi-Surface Cleaner Strips.
A few months ago, I reviewed the Tru Earth Laundry Strips and…. I loved them. In fact, it’s the only laundry detergent that I have used since writing the review! You can see the full review here.

However, today we’re talking about a new product — Tru Earth’s Multi-Surface Cleaner Strips.
What are “Cleaner Strips”?
Prior to reviewing these, I had never tried a “cleaner strip” before and didn’t know what to expect. Basically, they are a solid, dry strip of concentrated cleaner. You just add it to water and spray away! One of the many perks of these is the cupboard space that you save since they’re so tiny (but powerful).
What makes this Cleaner Eco-Friendly?
On the website, Tru Earth asks “Why ship water all over the world when you’ve got perfectly good water coming straight from your tap?”. Good question, Tru Earth.
Not only do these lightweight Eco-Friendly strips save on shipping resources, but they also:
- Save on single-use plastic bottles (you just keep reusing the same one out of your recycling!). This helps keep 2.5 billion plastic cleaning bottles out of landfills per year.
- Are shipped in 100% zero waste compostable packaging
- Reduce the number of other cleaners you need to purchase. You can also use these strips to clean your toilet or to mop your floors!\
- Are made in Canada!
How to use the Tru Earth Multi-Surface Cleaner Strips
Using these strips is beyond simple. You just rip off one tiny strip, roll it up, and add it to a spray bottle of choice. Then you fill-up the spray bottle with hot water, add the spraycap, and shake. Voila — you have a full bottle of natural cleaner ready to use!
As I mentioned above, you can also throw a strip into a mop bucket to mop your floors, or throw half into your toilet bowl to clean away any toilet rings!
Does it work?
Quick and easy answer — yes! I usually only use natural/eco-friendly cleaners in my home and often make my own out of vinegar. And I must say, Tru Earth Multi-Surface Cleaner Strips worked MUCH better than my homemade vinegar spray.
My biggest test for Tru Earth’s spray was the stuck-on residue on my bathtub (I’m a big bath fan if you didn’t know, so I have to clean it often). I usually have to scrub and scrub the tub or use some harsh cleaner. However, this cleaner did most of the work for me! Which means that I’m a happy bather.
I also would like to note that the lemony scent of this cleaner is great!
My Overall Thoughts
Overall, I am a big fan. In terms of price, I think it is more than reasonable (even when full price!). If you read my review of Tru Earth’s laundry strips, you would know that I thought they were a little pricey if you didn’t get a special/bundle price. However, I don’t think these cleaner strips would hurt my wallet at all.
Let’s do some math! A pack of 8 Tru Earth Multi-Surface Cleaner Strips is $19.95. That’s ~$2.50 per strip. Since each strip makes one bottle of natural cleanser, that’s $2.50 per bottle of cleanser. Not bad! In comparison to a similar product on Amazon, a bottle of Mrs. Meyer’s Natural Cleaner is $5.99 regular price.
