Chili Lime Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Chickpeas (drained and rinsed) Or one 14oz can
  • 1/3 cup Tahini
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil extra virgin
  • 1/4 cup Lime Juice Juice of about 2 limes
  • 1/2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder Can sub 1-2 cloves fresh garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Water May need a little more

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor. We used a Vitamix blender.
  • Blend, starting at low, and slowly go to high
  • Use the Vitamix tamper or a large spoon/spatula to press down the mixture from the sides to ensure even blending
  • If the hummus is too thick or not blending smoothly, slowly stream in more water 1 tsp at a time until a smooth consistency is reached
  • Serve as is, or top with olive oil, sesame seeds, paprika, and red chili flakes
