One thing I have just started making using kitchen scraps is my own all-purpose cleanser! While I
This one is super simple, made of only two ingredients, and you probably have them in your kitchen right now!
Instructions
DIY, Zero Waste, Lemon Cleanser
Ingredients
- 2-6 Used lemons
- 1-2 cups White vinegar
Instructions
- Save your used lemon pieces (from baking, lemon water, etc.)
- Fill a jar with an airtight lid with white vinegar. I used about 1 cup of vinegar.
- Put the lemon pieces in the jar and let them soak for a couple of days
- Strain the vinegar from the lemons (keep the vinegar, compost those lemons)
- Mix 1 part of the lemon-infused vinegar with two parts water
- Add the mixture to a spray bottle
Easy peasy lemon squeezy! 🍋 🍋 🍋
The lemons and vinegar are naturally anti-bacterial, so it is a great all-purpose cleaner! I use it on my counters, in my bathrooms, and even in my car. It is also great at degreasing, deodorizing and disinfecting most surfaces.
Note: You can also add pure vodka or your favourite essential oils (I love thieves oil) to the cleanser to add more antibacterial properties and stronger scents.
